A Message from Father Patrick – 26th July 2020

Dear Parishioners

Judging by what the experts are now saying, the coronavirus is not going away any time soon.   We are waiting for a vaccine, which could take many months to arrive, and even then it may not be effective.

In the meantime we are in a form of lockdown which, little by little, is being lifted, with the warning that new restrictions can still be imposed nationally, or on a local level where necessary.

Our Sunday Mass obligation has been removed, and where Masses are being said, numbers are restricted, and we will need to book our place at Mass.  It is a whole new world.   As Catholics we miss being able to pray in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, and we miss being able to receive Holy Communion at Mass.

What can we do?   Never underestimate the power of prayer to heal and renew.   Please pray the Rosary every day.   Keep close to our Lord Jesus in prayer and meditation.   God is calling us to be reconciled with Him.   Love tenderly, act justly, and walk humbly with your God.

God bless
Father Patrick
